The business case: Why HR, Comms and Change Management are critical to AI transformation.
Read the latest research report or check out the research archive below.
The business case is compelling. Some might even say obvious.
Over the last 12 months, it’s become clear that:
- AI is about long-term transformation, not just quick wins.
- And AI is about people, not just technology.
Given this, the employee enablement specialists – HR, Communication and Change Management – have a key role to play in AI transformation. They also need to manage three serious people risks along the way.
This paper explains this business case and the risks in detail. It also proposes specific areas where these teams can (and should) play a role.
The paper is in Powerpoint format with notes so you can present it to your team and leaders.
I’d love to hear your thoughts about this paper. If you’d like to talk, contact me Linkedin or book time for a chat.
AI Research
I wrote my first paper on AI and communication in 2017… 5 years before Generative AI became mainstream. Over the years since, I’ve become more involved in AI to the point where it is now a mainstay of the work I do. Main interests lie in the relationship between people and AI as well as the impact of AI on organisations over the next five years.
Alignment Research
Since 2018, I have worked on three reports into strategic alignment with my colleague Zora Artis Zora Artis, GAICD IABC Fellow SCMP ACC.
Our most recent report expands on the previous work by interviewing 55 CEOs, Chiefs of Staff and leaders in HR, Communication and Operations. We take a candid look at the changing face of alignment and what we can do to enable alignment at a time of accelerating change.

Communication and Strategy Research
My entire career has been focused largely on leadership communications… speech writing, investor relations and strategy communication (as well as strategy management). This lead to my first paper on strategy comms in 2019. It looks at the role of comms in the strategy review process.
Then, in 2022, I celebrated by 20 year comms milestone by sharing the key lessons I’ve learnt from my time in the profession (up until then, anyway).
